I finally had the opportunity to head out to the Jersey Shore for the first time since Sandy hit. My main reason to go was to check on our house that is located out there since the hurricane hit, and it gave me some time to meet with contractors. Fortunately for us, we did not sustain a lot of damage. We were one of the lucky ones. Fortunately not all of my time was spent working on the house, I did have some moments to travel around and see how things looked since Sandy hit. By me a lot of the debris and sand has been removed. Contractors and utility companies are hard at work putting life back into the hard hit areas. I was curious to see how some of my favorite shooting locations fared after the fact. Some held up nicely, others took a beating, and some have been totally eradicated. It was hard to witness those who suffered the most, but on the positive side, life seems to have gotten back to normal for most of the people that I know who live there day to day. Pix taken were shot with the Nikon D800e and the Sigma Merrill DP2.
